Mirjam handling batI am a Heisenberg Fellow working at the Free University Berlin in Germany. Additionally, I am affiliated with the Institute of Evolutionary Ecology and Conservation Genomics at the University of Ulm and with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Panama (as research associate). My focal research interests are acoustic communication and social behavior of mammals, especially when learning processes are involved. Predominantly, I study bats in the Neotropics and elsewhere.
