I am the head of the Behavioral Ecology and Bioacoustics Lab at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, I am a Research Associate of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama and affiliated with the Free University Berlin. As a behavioral ecologist, I hold extensive scientific expertise in acoustic communication, cognition, learning, and social behavior of mammals, particularly bats. My research projects are highly interdisciplinary, incorporating acoustics, genetics, neuroethology, and biolinguistics. Most of my fieldwork is conducted in the Neotropics and South Africa.
Bats in Translation is a comprehensive overview of our current research.
